Want a New Start – Find the School Bus

November 14th, 2007

So, this school day was the first, full of anxiousness and pleasure, ample rituals and after that… many “unexpected” moments. Regardless of many times that we had done that day, with new pair of sneakers, new rucksacks and new cool clothing, nobody ever appeared to become tired of it. So we once more up with smiles at our faces, and the longing for an embrace and the trust of ignoring the anxiety in our stomachs.

I had been schooling for more than 14 years and I had prepared my children for such first days of school for almost 10 years. Up till now regardless of how often we’d been here earlier, the minute that the large yellow bus appeared, was at the moment all the relieves of what we recognized were obviously out the window.

Then such questions appeared; Who will I be seated next to me? How long will it take to drive? What will our teacher be like? And will I be acquainted with anyone in my class? Will the teacher give much homework? And will I remember something I learned previous year?

Those ups-and-downs were sufficient to send any person over the top, so far those very same ups-and-downs, also offered hope. Before seeing the school bus, I imagined: Wouldn’t it be wonderful if we were able each begin our year off by means of a large yellow school bus?

You see, the bus was actually much more than only just transportation to school, since it created a power and spirit that guide into the whole day itself. The bus created the course to so many fresh and stirring events and people. And it was the bus that guided to the mysterious, yet still deserted you with a feeling of hope concerning what was to happen.
